There are around 20,000 higher education institutions worldwide, and more than 20 global rankings with different focuses. Lund University is consistently ranked among the best in the world.

Overall rankings

Overall or general university rankings are influenced by a combination of factors such as academic reputation, teaching quality, research impact, global outlook and employer perception of graduates.

Thematic rankings

Thematic rankings focus on a specific topic, such as sustainability or reputation.

Subject rankings

There are both rankings for broader subject areas and rankings for specific subjects within these areas. Specific Master's programmes in Finance and Management were ranked 36th and 44th in the world by the Financial Times in 2023.
