Flexible university courses – study on your own terms
Thinking about a new career path, or aiming to progress in your current role? Perhaps you are returning to study after several years at work. We provide a broad range of free, stand-alone courses that you can apply for. Many are offered online or on a part-time basis, so you can balance study with your job and family responsibilities.
To successfully apply, you must meet the course or programme's entry requirements, which may specify certain prior studies or professional experience.
Distance learning opportunities
Lund University offers a range of courses through distance learning, delivered primarily or entirely online. This flexible option is ideal if you are unable to attend classes on campus. You might choose to study remotely alongside a job or to complement studies at another institution.
Some distance learning courses include one or more mandatory on-campus sessions, while others are fully online. Details about any required campus meetings are available on the individual course pages.

Commissioned education – courses designed to meet specific workplace needs
Commissioned education allows employers to collaborate with universities to support the professional development of their staff. This education is specifically designed for people in working life, and is funded by the employer. Comissioned education courses can vary in length, from short courses lasting a day or two to longer programmes spread over several semesters. Some commissioned education courses may lead to academic credits or even a degree, but this is not a requirement.
