At Lund University, you can choose from 3 international Bachelor's and 16 Master's programmes in science. Several programmes also offer different specialisations. The University is highly ranked in science – currently 104th in the world (QS, 2023).

Studying science
Science at Lund University is characterised by world-class research in a wide variety of fields, from molecular to ecological systems, and from biosphere studies to astronomy and high-energy particle physics. One line of research at the faculty, attosecond research, led to the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics for the work of Anne L'Huillier.
Research and education are closely intertwined, and cover all major areas in science:

Using science to tackle global challenges
Scientific knowledge and research have laid the foundations for much of the prosperity of modern society. However, rapid developments in technology and consumption have also created global problems related to the overexploitation of water, land and air. Ensuring that the planet's resources are used wisely in the future requires increased research efforts. Politicians and other decision-makers also need to become more aware of scientific evidence and base their decisions on it. Students at the Faculty of Science benefit greatly from the breadth of research. Several world-leading research groups provide a platform for outstanding higher education. Much of the teaching takes place in laboratories that are at the forefront of research. Our teachers are also active researchers, so our students are particularly well trained in the scientific method.
