Becoming an international mentor is one of several ways to get involved at Lund University.

As a student, you have numerous opportunities to engage in activities and student organisations. This is an excellent way to develop valuable skills, make lasting connections, and support your fellow students and the University. On this page, you will find a list of these opportunities.

Become an international mentor

As an international mentor, you can give new international students a warm welcome, just as you probably experienced yourself when you came to Lund. By taking an active role during Arrival Day, the Orientation Weeks and their first semester, you can help them adjust to a new environment and student life. Of course, Swedish students are also encouraged to apply!

Become a student ambassador on Instagram

The Lund University international Instagram account is run by international students, with a different ambassador taking over the account each week during the semester. Applications for new Instagram Ambassadors for the autumn semester 2023 are now closed. Applications for the spring semester 2024 will be open in October 2023.

Become a student ambassador on Unibuddy

As a Lund University student ambassador, you'll have the opportunity to connect with prospective students, sharing your own unique experiences of life at Lund and answering their questions through the Unibuddy platform. You will also play an important role in our recruitment efforts by writing blogs and participating in other activities such as live chats, webinars, video projects, etc. If you are interested in becoming one of our next ambassadors, please contact the International Marketing and Recruitment team at degreestudies [at] lu [dot] se (degreestudies[at]lu[dot]se).

Become a study support mentor or note-taker

Become a study support mentor or note-taker to help a fellow student with a disability, earn some extra money, and develop new skills. Note that a Swedish personal identity number is required for this role.

Become a student health and safety representative

If you are interested in contributing to a good and safe study environment at your department or in your programme or course, you can apply to become a student health and safety representative. The role focuses on both the physical and the psychosocial study environment.
