Studying at Lund University is about more than lectures and exams – it is also about living a full and balanced life. As a student, you will find plenty of opportunities to stay active, explore culture, and connect with faith communities or simply take time for reflection.

Modern sports facilities
Gerdahallen, one of the largest student fitness centres in northern Europe, offers around 200 classes each week – including yoga, Pilates, spin, high-intensity training and dance. The centre also has a 24-hour gym as well as access to personal trainers and physiotherapists. Gerdahallen is a part of Lund University, and all services are available at discounted rates for students.
Victoriastadion offers even more options, including a gym with student prices and a wide range of sports facilities. Students can book courts for tennis, squash, badminton, indoor handball, basketball, football and volleyball.
Local sports clubs
There are several local sports clubs, which are generally organised on a voluntary basis. They are usually not connected to Lund University, with a few exceptions.

All of our campus locations have a number of jogging and cycling tracks, large open spaces and attractive parks where you can walk, run, cycle or just relax. In Malmö and Helsingborg you are also close to the sea.

Cultural activities at the University
Lund University has several cultural and public centres and academies for the visual and performing arts. These centres and academies regularly organise performances, public lectures and exhibitions, and also provide a meeting place for students, staff and guests from the community.

Religion, spirituality and reflection
The University’s Multifaith Chaplaincy
At Lund University, students of all faiths, as well as non-believers, are welcome to reach out to the Multifaith Chaplaincy.
The chaplains offer:
- Someone to talk to in confidence
- Free, non-judgmental support and advice
- Help connecting with local churches or faith communities
The team includes chaplains from the Church of Sweden and the Uniting Church in Sweden.

Religion in Sweden and Lund
Although Sweden is one of the most secular countries in practice, its landscape is marked by church buildings that reflect a long history of Christianity. More than half of the population are members of the Church of Sweden (Svenska kyrkan), a Lutheran denomination. Islam is the second largest religion in Sweden, with a growing Muslim community across the country.
